I was working a freelance job last night which is why I myself did not come out - though for whatever it is worth, seeing these playlists are only now making me grit my teeth a bit harder about it... Those are some nicec setlists... Or rather, nicer than I'm used to seeing...

It's kind of surreal - I've grown so jaded to certain genres of clublife and such that I'll look at a playlist and only see what i think as 'negative', when in truth there are so many more tracks on these that i'd kill to hear than in a regular night... Actually hearing 'The Wake' at a club night that *i'm* not spinning? unreal...

I would have danced...mmmmm....
Nice set list. Look at The Brides! Yeeeeeeee!

heya Nathan, actually i'd like to invite you to dj with us sometime, if you're interested in spinning within our loose format bounds. there's no pay involved if that's a concern, just lots of good music, friends & dancing. :o)

ya know, i guess its natural for any dj to think this about her own lists, but i often wish i could clone myself just for one night so i could experience both sides of the booth with a 10-song set of stuff i'd normally play. Mike & John played a nice selection of songs too, so i can't complain too much.

anyway.. let me know if you'd like to help sometime, in fact we could arrange for you to spin next week if you liked. we're sticking with shorter 30-40 min. sets to keep the styles fresh throughout the night.

i'd love to - just don't consider it me 'helping', i'd be doing it out of my own love for the music...

remind me again when it gets closer and we'll arrange schedules since i'm starting on evening schedules next week anyway (with wed. night off)

thank you,
we had a great time. i totally didn't expect more than myself, Mike, John and two others to show up. john says he wants to do this on a weekly basis, although i don't think it will do well over a long period of time if we slip into doing a strictly old-school night.. since i've heard they usually last only a few months at a time. i thought we did well mixing old with new last night.

..if you dance on my grave than you'd better wear boots.... ;-) lol

I Must Not Think Bad Thoughts

Usually I play Devil Doll off of that album, but when I pulled it the song jumped out at me. So yes, it was indeed totally unexpected. ;)

Unfortunately I had a prior commitment that evening, and now I'm really sorry I missed this. Next time...
