Recording streaming audio

Anyone know of a freeware program that will record an unlimited amount of streaming audio?

What kind of streaming audio? mp3? real audio?
I have been unable to find a real audio stream capture util.
However, in Linux, XMMS has a disk writer util that writes whatever audio it's playing to disk as a .wav file. I don't know about windows.

I use an application called TotalRecorder, which you can get at http://www.highcriteria.com/. Its not free, but its only 12 bucks to buy, and it'll record from any steaming media source.
