On the road again
9pm, somwhere in South Carolina...
so, Frank & I finally got on the highway late this afternoon. despite getting up at 6am this morning i still hadn't made much progress packing for the trip by the time Frank came by at 1pm. he came over as i was about to go to the tag office to pick up my new tag, and we rode there together. after waiting in line for 30 minutes the lady at the counter told me that my tag was mistakenly sent to the wrong tag office, and i'd have to go to the Lawrenceville location to pick it up. I thought I'd have time to go there on the way out of town, so I opted not to accept a temporary paper tag while they mailed me mine from the other office (which would have taken a month). We went down the street to a beauty supply store since Frank needed eyeliner, and the lady behind the counter remembered me from years ago when she worked in another store off Memorial Ave. lol, she said, 'oh hi its my gay friend' and then she did a double take, unsure that i was the same person. She looked confused so I said I remembered her from her old store and she lit up a second, then more confusion.. looking me over again.. she was like oooh you're good now, so good now. whatever... she was a sweetie though.
there is a small insect flying around and crawling on my laptop screen. ok its gone now.
oh, so we finished our errands together and came home, it was around 3pm by then. i packed my clothes & gear and by the time we had everything situated it was 4:45. so.. we start out.. then i remembered that i had to leave a rent check for John, and another check for Dara... fortunately I hadn't gone far down Beaver Ruin Road so no loss.. Next we get to pleasant hill and i realize that i forgot my $100 bill in my planner at home. we decided to make quick stop at Frys, then back to get my money. by the time we were finally on 85n it was 6pm.
and that is where we are now.. Frank is driving now. obviously! um... no frank we will not stop at the Adult Store and buy a dildo together!!! lol. ok so anyway... we're somewhere north of Spartan burg and this big 18 wheeler in front of us is slowing down to unsafe speeds... wtf.. ok. the trucker is on crack.
We're listening to the Walking in London LP by Concrete Blonde right now.. have I ever mentioed how much I adore her lyrics? i do. she's one of my favorite songwriters.
speaking o forgetting things, i forgot my leather jacket too. we were too far away to go back and get it when i noticed. and i didn't get a pillow and blanky. oh well... i will survive.
