new death disco, necropolis.. its all the fucking same.

Necropolis will be no more after November. Necropolis lasted 5 months which was surprising to me. I never thought it would last beyond one date. Anyway. While both John & I love djing the wednesday night thing is wearing thin.

John will spin tomorrow and we'll both return the following week, and perhaps once more after that. A small handful attended religiously and for that I thank you. If we could have done this on a weekend at a 18+ club I'm sure the night would have grown into something really fun.

After much thought I've decided not to continue my fruitless search for musicians for Tears for the Dying. I gave up on the other band 10 years ago (despite a few uninspired and -desparate- gigs this summer). At least Vomit Thrower's final show was well-attended and memorable.

So with that I will have all but dropped out of the "scene". I don't know what to think about this.

(no subject)

speaking of Vomit Thrower, I called Adam today and we chatted for a long time. I really miss hanging out with him, and Rob too. i also miss steve and schade.. both of whom -are- alive but who might as well be dead. all of us used to be so close. steve & I used to be roommates, and schade & I were next-door neighbors for a long time.. we were so young and carefree back then, i remember going to whatever fast-food joint with them after band practice.. adam always started the ketchup packet fights. we were so naughty, and we loved every second of it! they were the family i should have had.

well we eventually went our own ways.. i moved to Atlanta, Steve went to trucking school, Schade.. i can't remember where he went, and Adam stayed in Athens. we didn't talk much for many years, then we heard news that George of Uncle Messy died.. VT & Uncle Messy played many shows together, and Rob was their drummer. Everyone was shocked about George, he seemed like he would live forever and never age a day over 20.

years go by and VT reunites one more time, but without Steve who found jah-eezzus and wasn't interested anymore. So Rob offered to fill in on bass. We played one of the best shows any of us had ever experienced in Athens last February and began making plans for another gig or two when we learned that Rob was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. His intestines ruptured and a month later he succumbed to infection. Adam took it the worst out of all of us, they were like brothers. our vt show was Rob's last time on stage, and I know it meant a lot to Adam.

So earlier today Adam & I told me about a dream he had last night were he walked into the lunch paper and someone said VT was playing, so in his usual surprised, upbeat voice said, "well ok then I should probably give everyone a call!".. he didn't say but Rob was in his dream becuase I could hear his voice cracking as he spoke. ok this is making me cry.. enough.
