little bit of good news, advice sought

So my car is finally paid off as of yesterday.   Of course now I have a zillion dollars in school loans due.

I like php/mysql development but I'm finding that we're often viewed as temporary solutions, sometimes hired as contract workers sometimes employees.   I'm so tired of worrying about my future, I want to find something to do where I know hard work will result in relative job security.   Fast, accurate coding is what everyone wants but give it to them and well after you're done no more work on the horizon, nothing to do , so sorry,  good luck!  I despise contract work, hate the thought of having to find a new "employer" every few months.   I want one job that will last, not 10/yr.

So, having said all of that.. I'm 5 credit hours from a 2-year associates degree.  My goal is to complete that degree this year.   After that I would be eligible to enroll at Kennesaw State (not Emory, or GSU due to grades).

I'm 37 and I guess young enough to change careers?   Should I resolve to go to 4-year school to take science/healthcare courses, or pick up Education classes again?

Thank you for saying that. I've heard it several times this weekend on tv about different things.. maybe someone is trying to tell me something. :)
