TI-83 problems

My poor, poor calculator.  It also thinks I hate it.

I pulled the battery cover off this morning to discover four badly corroded AAA batteries inside.  They were stuck in place until I wedged them out with a knife.

My question is can I still use it?  There's a little white stuff remaining, but the contacts seem OK.

My Corrosion

The best thing to do is pop in some fresh batteries and just try it. I've had devices like remotes (who checks the batteries in these things anyway?) sustain a fair amount of leakage and was able to continue using them after cleaning them up. As long as the corrosion hasn't eaten into any of the circuitry, you should be okay.
