I had lunch at the "original" one in Atlanta, about ten years ago... *had* to have the Two Dogs-Fries-Rings selection... Because Louis Grizzard, Paula Deen and Mark Lowry *all* said that's what you should have on your first visit... Of course, Lowry's no dietary saint. He sometimes quips that, where he was brought up, in East Texas, grease is a food group... And their idea of a before-dinner drink was a bottle of Crisco and a straw! ;-)
You're welcome. My first memory of the Varsity was when my grandmother took me there in the 70's. Sadly, she warned me to stay away from the colored people. But I remember with fondness all the new faces, new smells and excitement of a huge restaurant like that.
