I filled up for $47 today

A new ethanol pump opened a few miles from home, so I drove over and filled up this morning. My truck isn't *quite* as fast as it was on gas, but nothing to complain about. It runs fine with e85, and if my mileage is good enough I'll continue using it.

The owner of the station was very proud of his pump. lol.

I also saw this and had to take a picture:

more show & tell -- this was my old apartment in Norcross. It's in ruin.. the big tree in the middle was not there 3 years ago when I moved away. It grew that quick! My roses are still there, as are the two gardenia bushes I planted. I picked one of the flowers and put in my truck's ac grill.

e85 redux

Just learned that a new ethanol pump is opening in Jonesboro tomorrow or Sunday. The clerk said they will begin selling it at about $1.50 a gallon (!!!)

Texaco
7915 Jonesboro Road
Jonesboro, GA 30236
770-210-0404

The station in Lawrenceville (Safa BP) has increased their price to $3.49/gallon which is no better than gas when you figure for slightly decreased mileage with ethanol.

Oh - it looks like *two* Texaco stations are opening ethanol pumps at $1.50/gallon, but will increase their price to $3.69 a gallon almost immediately. So there goes any savings involved with ethanol.

before anyone scoffs

Georgia opened the nation's first cellulosic ethanol plant near Savannah earlier this year. Production will be 20 billion gallons a year - no corn involve, no food involved - everything is made from bio waste in the paper mills.

Now if they would only open a station closer to town...
