love is cancelled

I wake to a hurting, broken heart.

Hadn't dated in 20 years.  Met a lady I hadn't seen in over ten years, we ended up dating for 2 years.  She was the love of my life and we had so much in common.

The breakup came kinda unexpectedly, or like, I just couldn't see the writing on the wall.

I'm directionless and lost today.  All I want to do right now is cry.  And I do a lot of that.

tap tap tap is this thing on??

I'm feeling super nostalgic of late.  I've pretty much only used FB and insta for the past 10 years or so, but I really miss how LJ used to be.

Earth to LJ. Come in LJ.

Logged in for the first time since March 2013 after receiving a PM notice from an old lj-friend recently.

My guess is most of my old LJ friends are on FB or elsewhere these days, but am curious to see if anyone is actually still here and receiving this?

Cat nibbles

I adopted a former stray outdoors cat many months ago - it lives outside and has after many months started to come up to me and let me pet. Snowball (solid black cat) is very skittish, and sometimes hisses at me when I see her, but then he'll come over and act friendly.

In the last few weeks he's started lightly biting my hand when I'm petting. He's purring (never used to do that), and LOVES to be stroked gently on the head in between the ears.

So what's with the light biting? There's no blood and it feels like a gentle pinch. The first couple of times he did it I got up and walked away, but now I trust him a little more.. I let him nibble.

No price controls

Masterfully penned by the insurance companies. Lack of price controls is this Act's Achilles heel.

The insurance companies win either way.

The Supremes just gave the GOP more than a fighting chance later this year.   Had they overturned it, Dems would have won big in November.

What I found in my garden this morning

tomatoes

Below the roma and orange cherry tomatoes is a hundred or so yellow pear tomatoes (about 2" long). This should make some tasty pasta sauce. :)

ok, well I gave this a try

Maybe it's just that folks aren't checking LJ as often anymore. I wish there were more people using, to be honest.

Thanks SQ & others for the brief conversation yesterday. I'll try to post back from time to time (especially for the sake of those who did reply), it's just hard when there aren't many people left on LJ to interact with.
