So has anyone ever considered teaching (as in elementary or middle school)? Or is anyone teaching now who can tell me a little about how you started, what kinds of classes you took ect...
I've thought of this before, but never seriously. After reading my latest student loan statement I realized that I will never have any of the things I want in life if I don't do something about the debt (which at this point is quite a bit more than my salary... long story). I know there are programs where the government will forgive school loans in exchange for teaching physically/mentally handicapped children, or teaching in needed areas. Neither of which sounds like the most glamourous of jobs but either of which may be a quick(er) way out of all this debt I owe.
I almost feel led towards teaching.. I know that I won't want to do IT the rest of my life.. too competitve for me. I don't mind not making a fortune and I know certain areas aren't very good to teach in.. I'm only thinking this through right now. I plan to speak to acedemic advisement at GPC soon about this as well to see what they say.
