dj-ing gone wrong
Dec. 6th, 2005 06:43 amterribly frustrating dream last night of djing gone bad. i selected wrong song after wrong song and had total amnesia with my music. One song I pulled was to be a rock song by some band.. of course another wrong track. what played was a latino song of all things. To my horror a large group of rednecks broke out in the macerena. ok hold on. this is goth night not the fucking Night Owl.
Needless to say I'm frazzled and frustrated. I really need to take catch my breath, slow down, regain composure. So I decided Mexican Moon would go nicely after this latino number, so I find the Mexican Moon cd (the original not a burn), but neither english or mexican version of the song was on the cd! shit shit shit. A moment later the latino song ends with uncomfortable dead air.. fortunately this wasn't the last track on the album, so the next track starts playing a second later. It's crunchy, slow and kinda punk. Ok fine- I'll go with that. I pull out the Wild Gift/Los Angeles double CD, thinking Nausea will go nicely afterwords. But I look at the cover, which has the correct layout for the forementioned cd, but the songs are all wrong. It's something I'd never seen before with rare unreleaed tracks (and I know X pretty well).
All I wanted was Nausea.. not there.. dead air.. ::panic:: ok just play something adrya... I select a track that turned out to be a live bootleg recording. It was so quiet, I adjusted the faders to 10 but still barely heard the cacaphonous recording. Someone comes by the booth and places a request... As I'm searching for the request X ends abrubtly with more dead air. I look up and see that everyone is gone, I've run them all away.
and I woke up.
