The Village
Aug. 9th, 2004 12:59 amthanks to those who further recommended The Village... I am so glad I went because it was one of the best I've seen this year.
I know what others meant by the (few) "captain obvious" moments and while I scratched my head over why certain things werespoon fed shoved down our throats those few scenes didn't detract from the overall presentation. The ending surprised me, and not in a bad way.
Sometimes I long to be sent back in time to live in those simpler, and in some ways much smarter times.. well.. part of me does anyway. Then I remember how likely it would be that I would be murdered by christians as a heretical sinner or pagan witch, or die a slow painful death of any number of diseases now considered virtually harmless...
