The Village

thanks to those who further recommended The Village... I am so glad I went because it was one of the best I've seen this year.

I know what others meant by the (few) "captain obvious" moments and while I scratched my head over why certain things were spoon fed shoved down our throats those few scenes didn't detract from the overall presentation. The ending surprised me, and not in a bad way.

Sometimes I long to be sent back in time to live in those simpler, and in some ways much smarter times.. well.. part of me does anyway. Then I remember how likely it would be that I would be murdered by christians as a heretical sinner or pagan witch, or die a slow painful death of any number of diseases now considered virtually harmless...

I sometimes find it funny that so many people live around here who are into death rock & dark punk & post whatever, yet haven't bothered coming out to many -if any- events. I've no idea what everyone is waiting on. I mean for fucks sake.. where else can you go and hear 45 Grave, cinema Strange, enTERTAINME.nt, prids, turn pale, Frank the Baptist, Tragic Black, Sleeping Children ect so on... It makes me think that most people don't give a rats ass about establishing a worthy community of kindred spirits. They just want to get drunk and be seen. They want people to go see their shows but yet they won't go see other people's shows. They expect everything and give nothing.

I think that is sad.

oh god,
why
am I so much more sensitive than everybody else ?
why
do I feel things so much more acutely than them,
and understand so much more.
I bet I'm the first person who's ever felt as rotten as this.
could it be
that I'm going to grow up
to be a great poet and thinker, and all those other wankers in my class are going to have to work in factories or go on the dole?
yes, I think it could.

woe is me.

For a limited time only a previously unreleased song is available here: RED GRASS, BLACK PASTURE. It is a very nicely made black & white video.

Also... 8 tracks from Myssouri's first album available for download -- free -- here: http://artists2.iuma.com/IUMA/Bands/MYSSOURI/

..and from http://www.myssouri.com/04listen.htm

CATALOG OF WOES (Mp3 File)
LANDLOCKED BLUES (Mp3 File)

Both songs are previously unreleased and according to the band's website were to be included on War/Love Blues.
