Feels nice to finally lie down on my own bed again.. I arrived about an hour ago and hmm. the first thing I notice is that it feels weird typing on a keyboard again after 5 days of not using a computer... anyway the trip there and back was long and tiring but I'm home safe and that's all that matters. well that and getting to meet some new friends and reaquainting myself with old ones..

I never thought I'd see the old singer of GP but surprise surprise he was at both shows this weekend.. I *hope* my attempts to heal old wounds were successful. I'd like it if everyone would just forgive and forget the bullshit that went on at the end of that band's existence. I think he knew why I did what I did, but that didn't make my reacting to it right. feh. I did my part. I apologized for my actions, unfortunately I didn't receive the same in return. At least I tried.

The festival was amazingly fun.. It lasted through 3am and by that time my feet and back were begging to be taken home for rest.. I arrived shortly before the 3rd band went on around 7ish and stayed inside for every band following.. I really enjoyed myself and have no regrets of driving 1800 miles to see a handful of bands.. I ended up *really* enjoying many of the groups I'd only heard names of before.. The Funeral Crashers, Memphis Morticians, and Cult of the Psychic Fetus were new to me and were among my favs of the festival. Antiworld and Cinema Strange stood out above the rest on Saturday. CS were nothing like I expected them to be live... I stood awestruck for the first several songs. Lucas' performance (both vocally and theatrically) was one of the more intriguing acts I've ever seen live. I'm still bewildered at the unusual and passionate portrayal of his stage character on both nights.. The rest of the band were absolutely phenomenal -- Daniel's bass playing is what I've always dreamed about being able to play myself.. it's so smooth and textured. Who needs a keyboard player when you have Daniel and Mik working wonders on the strings? The drummer whose name I don't know hit the snare as hard as any punk drummer I've seen... he is very powerful component of the band's live sound. I don't think they would sound the same with a weaker drummer leading the songs.

Gosh.. I'm so happy I went to see this. Those that weren't able to make it missed a fucking great event. The Philly show was also great. I have a few piccies from the Rotunda show which I'll edit and post somewhere soon. A lot of people were snapping shots both nights so there should be an abundance of photos online soon.

*yawn* I'm tried. Off to bed for me..

hi there!

hey! All of them seem to have a -lot- of musical expereince and they are fabulous showmen. Daniel, Michael, and Lucas came out afterwords to sign autographs and meet people, they were very nice people with a great sense of humour (just like the interviews I'd read). I'm soo glad I drove up to see them and the other bands.
