Last night was The Hills Have Eyes, which I found rather boring and stupid. The gore makeup was okay I suppose.. It reminded me of an extended Sci-fi channel movie promo. :-/

Tonight was The Weather Underground, which was very interesting. I knew a little of the group from Steve Tucker who used to rave about them a lot.

One thing I was a little surprised at was when, in the late 60's after the Days of Rage, one of the Black Panthers lashed out at the SDS. He ripped the group a new one I guess on public tv from the looks of the footage. Although, what he said wasn't that far from the truth.. that the Days of Rage were childish, foolilsh, and the leaders should be ashamed for leading those people into garunteed defeat. Keep in mind the Panthers were being MURDERED by the us government about this time.. The FBI didn't take the Weather Underground seriously until the 70s, when strategic domestic bombing occurred.

I feel disappointed after seeing the documentary. We're so busy with IKEA and Ipods and NASCAR and "bling" that organized rebellion, like what occurred in the 60's and 70's, seems completely improbable now. Black kids are more interested in spinners and nike shoes than global oppression and lack of opportunity. Fred Hampton is rolling in his grave.

Fred Hampton is rolling in his grave.
