The guy really hits the nail on the head. The left has pigeonholed itself and needs to break free. I think a lot of the street theater is over the top, and it's true that you're out there to win the hearts and minds of "middle America" in a way, and that means not being too freaky.
You know, I toned down what I wore to the Atlanta peace march last month.. I first thought ok I must Represent and wear my deathpunk finest.. then well... no. tv cameras may be there, need to appear somewhat normal. The next one I attend I plan on wearing business casual.. this guy made so much sense to me.
