I've also noticed an increase in police officers using tasers with little to no provocation on suspects they deem unmanageable. I suppose if it's perceived as non-lethal, then indiscriminate use is okay. It's all well and good until some diabetic goes into cardiac arrest and dies.
These are the kinds of people who should not have weapons of any kind.
It is torture plain and simple. So you can either take a chance of being shot with rubber pellets, beaten with clubs and being sprayed with pepper gas.. OR go to the "free speech zone" far away from polical impact areas and shout into the wind.
