It appears I am going to San Antonio, TX next month for a conference. I made it through the last flight okay, but had moderate panic attacks going and coming. They would have been worse if not for my dear friend, Valium.

So - would it be better if I flew at night, or would that make it worse?

Could you do Amtrak? The Sunset Limited runs right through San San Antonio, I'm sure you could make a connection to Atlanta on the Crescent (via NOLA)

I wish I had an answer for you. I love flying, so I really haven't a clue what it's like for anyone that doesn't.

My suggestions: aisle seat, movie on your laptop, or at least some sort of music player and a good book. Also, more importantly, the knowledge that flying is still the safest way to travel.

Just drive to San Antonio. You'll feel much more relaxed and be in far more danger.
