No, it's more, how does Rep. Kucinich feel supporting Ron Paul? I do respect Kucinich far more than Obama, Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, etc. At least Kucinich is honest about what he stands for and what it implies, and does not give a crap about sugar-coating it. He actually knows what he believes, and does not have to be told by a teleprompter.
That said, I'm not sure if returning to the gold standard is a panacea. You're trading a mysterious cabal of central bankers for a mysterious cabal of gold mine owners. (Think Mrs. Ellsworth and Mr. Hearst.) But at least the gold mine owners are in competition with one another, and gold is a substance that exists outside of printed paper.
