i'm home from seeing Michael Moore's latest documentary with [livejournal.com profile] upas. i'm tired and need to go to bed but i wanted to say that Moore deserves honorable mention for his production. I expected much left-wing propaganda nor was I let down, but what I couldn't ignore were many facts he presented. I cried several times during the film, so many innocent lives have been lost and all because of some rather shady business deals implicating GW Bush, Dick Cheney and several Saudis too. I don't know how Moore came by some of the footage used in this documentary but some of it has to be seen to be believed.

I left with a clearer understanding of who I wouldn't vote for later this year. I suspect Kerry, Gore & the democrats have many shady dealings of their own and I don't think I can force myself to vote for them etiher. I don't like choosing between evils.

Also, I wonder if the reason Farenheit 911 is doing so well isn't because the American public is sick of hearing non-news on our major and cable networks.. What I saw tonight, well bits and peices of it anyway, was political truth unfolding on the silver screen.

Even if you can't stand the guy I urge everyone to see this movie. Don't bury your head in the sand, look around and see what is happening with your own eyes. Take what Moore is saying with a grain of salt, but also pay attention to many cold, hard facts presented in the documentary. Saying 911 is discomfortaing is an understatement.

Oddly enough, Moore's Bowling for Columbine tackles the subject of the "non-news" that American networks release much more than 9/11 did: Moore addresses it frontally, and contrasts American and Canadian news affiliates.

If Moore had a thesis, it'd probably be to take everything, information from all sides, with a grain of salt. I think about his work with as much or more skepticism as any other form of journalism. I do, however, appriciate Moore's sarcasm enough to enjoy his work more than your average day at Fox News.

I enjoyed the flick. =)

I haven't seen it yet, but plan to this week. And Americans haven't had a real choice for president for...decades. I do know that voting for anyone but Kerry pretty much ensures that Bush will get for more years. And THAT worries me...

i may see it, but not til
it comes out on dvd/video.

personally...

i find his movies rather boring,
but thats only my opinion...

he really doesnt do anything different
than any other journalist type.

they want to be ambushers and shock people,
and use the old "people need to know" speach...

i know plenty enough from the sources i have
read or viewed from...

im not shocked at all about anything that happens
in the usa or the world for that matter...

its nice to think we can change the world, and i dont
discourage ANYONE from voting, reseachng, or getting
informed about domestic & world news & situations...

the bottom line is: ALL POLITITIONS ARE CORRUPT!!
end of story...

my 2-cents.

I found this tidbit floating on the internet last night, and thought it was funny. Role reversals are always sort of fun to watch.

I'm going to have to show it to my MM-loving ultra leftist co-worker. He'll probably explode and I'll have to wash his intestines off the packing peanut machine, but it'll be worth it!

I haven't seen the movie yet however I do remember the day of 9/11 very well. I saw the plane hit the second tower live while we were getting ready to do a weather promo for the TV station I work at. When that happened I thought to myself "That is no Fucking Accident". The thing that bothers me is that I have a friend that is very into conspiracy theory and he knew years before it actually happened that it was going to happen. It doesn't matter who you vote for because they all answer to the same "Shadow Government". This was only a scheme to attack our freedoms with laws designed to look like they are done for our security.

The only way to beat this is to have all society wake up. I don't think that's going to happen until it's too late.
