TftD update, 60 mp3s uploaded
Dec. 13th, 2004 08:23 amWhile I have no -new- songs to share, this weekend I uploaded over 60 mp3s to the Tears for the Dying website.
Some of these were previously released TftD songs but most are songs from other bands I've worked in throughout my life (The Girl Pool, Vomit Thrower and others).
The collection begins with my most recent projects and ends with the first band I played in (including an awful tune which was the first I ever wrote). Many of the older mp3s were not produced very well but there are a few gems worth mentioning...
Vomit Thrower ~ 2004 Single: 2 songs self-recorded January 2004 by Vomit Thrower. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.. ;-)
The Girl Pool ~ 1999 Remixes: 2 songs from The Girl Pool's last release entitled The Girl Pool. These mixes were slightly different from what was officially released.
The Girl Pool ~ 1996 Concert: 2 songs from a concert in Athens by The Girl Pool. We performed both selections for the first time that night. This happens to be one of my favorite recordings of Veil.
The Girl Pool ~ 1996 McWhorter Demo: 4 songs from EP by The Girl Pool recorded by Ryan McWhorter. This was our first real studio time as a band.. Steve's keyboard solo at the end of Cars is short but amazingly good. Space Angel, a bubbly retro pop song, is one of my favorites by The Girl Pool.
Endless ~ Love's Faith Rotted / Love's Ruin : 3 songs from 1995 demos (Love's Faith Rotted and Love's Ruin) by a gothic punk band whose name, Endless, led to some confusion.. First of all, the band name was not taken from Neil Gaiman's comic series. Secondly, this project obviously has nothing to do with another band by the same name which later appeared in New York.
Ok with that out of the way.. Extermn8 is still my favorite Endless song, probably because of the nonstandard timing and breaks. Gary Numan fans will appreciate our rendition of You Are In My Vision.
Vomit Thrower ~ 1992 Concert (Savannah, GA) : 2 mp3s of a Vomit Thrower show from Savannah, GA in 1992. Over 100 people were there to see us play which was a -lot- considering it was our second gig ever. Everyone had a great time and this performance of Worst Pornography was one of my favs.
Jimmy Swaggart Experience ~ Miscellaneous: and finally, 2 songs by Jimmy Swaggart Experience... We later changed our name to Vomit Thrower after Phil left, although JSE did have a nice ring to it. Fuck Peace is preceeded by a short snippet of Man with the Dogs by DK, which we properly butchered. Untitiled doesn't have lyrics and was subsequently dropped, but this was the first song I'd ever written. If it isn't blatently obvious after listening to Untitled and Fuck Peace I barely knew how to play when this formed. *smiles*
Ok, that is all.
